Chute Inspection & Service
|
OUR SERVICE is not just a good idea it Will SAVE YOU TIME, MONEY AND HEAD-ACHES.
We at Atlantic Chutes, Inc. want to take this opportunity to remind you that proper chute inspection and maintenance
are essential in making sure that your chutes stay healthy, enjoy long life, and are in compliance with National Fire Protection
Association codes. Please be aware that minor chute problems can become major management and financial headaches if not
taken care of promptly.
Chute Inspection
1) This service involves inspecting each door to make sure that it closes properly and to make note of any parts which
need to be replaced to bring the door into compliance with applicable fire code regulations. The door must be lubricated before
the inspection is carried out to make certain of which parts are actually worn out as sometimes a part is not actually needed but
is sticking due to lack of lubrication. Regular lubrication can multiply the life of doors and parts. Parts that are not regularly
lubricated or that are worn can cause damage to chute doors which are very expensive to manufacture to fire code and are very
costly to replace.
2) Cleaning and adjusting services are performed on those doors which do not close properly. A non-closing door is
removed so that any accumulated trash can be cleaned out. If the door still does not close properly, the door’s inner panel
must be removed so that any small objects which have become lodged in such a way as to prevent the door’s closing can be
removed. After these are gone, the door’s inner mechanisms (hydraulic closure, etc.), must be reinstalled, the inner panel put
into place again, and the door itself reattached.
Please note that the cost of any replacement parts required is charged separately. However, in the case of minor parts such as
latches, handles, and fusible links, labor is not charged if performed at the time of inspection . If any major repairs are required,
a quote for that work is submitted for approval before the work is undertaken.
We hope that this explanation helps you to understand the nature of our chute inspection service and why such inspection and
service should be performed on a regular basis to make sure the chute in use at your facility is operating in compliance with
Fire Code regulations. Please call if you have questions or require additional information.
