1) This service involves inspecting each door to make sure that it closes properly and to make note of
any parts which need to be replaced to bring the door into compliance with applicable fire code
regulations. The door must be lubricated before the inspection can be carried out. The charge for each
door is $12.00.
2) Cleaning and adjusting services are performed only on those doors which do not close properly. A
non-closing door is removed so that any accumulated trash can be cleaned out. If the door still does not
close properly, the door’s inner panel must be removed so that any small objects which have become
lodged in such a way as to prevent the door’s closing can be removed. After these are gone, the door’s
inner mechanisms (hydraulic closure, etc.), must be reinstalled, the inner panel put into place again, and
the door itself reattached. The charge for this service is $18.50 per door.
Please note that the cost of any replacement parts required is charged separately. However, in the case
of minor parts such as latches, handles, and fusible links, labor is not charged if performed at the time of
inspection . If any major repairs are required, a quote for that work would be submitted for approval
before the work was undertaken.
